Active Movie Guide

Editorial policy

Active Movie Guide aims to make clear, careful writing about movie storytelling and craft. Readers should be able to tell what a piece observes, what it interprets and how to raise a concern.

Accuracy and interpretation

We check names, titles and factual details before publication and take care not to present an interpretation as established fact. Where a point is uncertain or open to more than one reading, our wording should make that clear. We do not claim access to private production information unless a piece can substantiate it in public material.

Independence

Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers and the subject, not to secure favourable coverage. A relationship with a partner does not give that partner control over our editorial conclusions. We do not offer paid reviews or promise a particular response to a film.

Corrections

If you spot an error, contact us with the page and the detail in question. We assess correction requests and update a piece when warranted; a material correction should be identified clearly in the article.

Partners and illustrations

Any sponsored or partner material is labelled plainly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when used, they should be identified as such and not presented as documentary images.
